Age One Dental Visit

We think these visits are so important, we offer them for free!

Exams and cleanings are provided free of charge for children under 24 months of age. The first visit is designed to be short and simple. We focus on getting to know you and your child and giving you important information about dental care to help implement an effective preventive plan to avoid unnecessary future dental treatment. Dr. Beth or Dr. Ashley will gently check your child's teeth, gums, soft tissue, and evaluate his/her airway and growth patterns. Any questions or concerns will be thoroughly addressed.

Establishing a "dental home" is an important component of the age one dental visit. Sweetpea Children's Dentistry, along with the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommend that a child see a dentist no later than one year of age. This initial visit allows your child to establish a "dental home"–a place for your child to grow and be supported throughout childhood and adolescence. Children who have a dental home established early are less likely to form cavities and are more likely to get the appropriate preventive and regular oral health care that they need. A dental home also gives your child a place to go in case of a dental emergency.

Taking your child to a pediatric dentist for their oral health care is like taking your child to a pediatrician for their medical care. Parents have peace of mind knowing their children are receiving the best possible care from pediatric dental specialists and kids will be happy because Sweetpea’s office was designed for them to have fun!
